Why make the switch to cloth pads? ModestMaiden lists a number of convincing reasons for crossing over to the green side:
- save money, since they can be used again and again
- feel good knowing you aren't adding to the landfills
- they're so soft, and they feel much better against the skin!
- celebrate being a woman! :)

I have been using LunaPads and GladRags for years now, and I wouldn't dream of switching back. I got my period unexpectedly while on vacation last year, and I had no choice but to use disposables (tampax, always, and the like). All I can say is EW! I couldn't wait to get home to my cloth pads!
I must also fully endorse the DivaCup, the Keeper, and/or the Moon Cup for those times when pads just simply will not suffice (snug clothing days, yoga class, swimming, hiking through bear country... you know, stuff like that). Added bonus, they help relieve cramps for some women too (I'm one of those lucky women, yay!)
