Shine a Little Repurposed Light...

Being an avid fan of lamps, and a firm believer that the right lighting can really help create a mood in any place, I want to share with you some great recycled, repurposed and vintage light sources that I'm crushing on...

Moss Mania

Moss is catching on in the crafting world. I have been a fan of mossy craftings ever since I discovered the awesome moss makes of Ottoman, like this Moss Pincushion

More recently, neatness like moss terrariums have cropped up, an ingeniously adorable conception of madebymavis. These little terrariums combine nature and vintage to form very unique decorative pieces.

And last in this wonderfully green moss collection today, comes a set of Gather Moss Earrings by AdornJewelry. They're so intriguing I can't look away!

It's a Mouse in a Box!

This is one of lapomme's boxed universe pieces. A plush mouse in an embroidered flower patch, all neatly packed into a vintage tin! I find these boxed universes to be completely adorable and fun collection pieces for young and old alike!

Amethyst, Emerald, OH MY!

VivienCheng reclaimed a vintage handbag to create this beautiful clutch...

Here's what she has to say about her reclamation process:

Every vintage or reclaimed handbag that I revamp is customised individually with its own original hand-painted motif. As each handbag is one-off, I first sketch up multiple ideas in colour and sometimes do up paper patterns to test out my ideas before painting. Once I have the final design, I start painting my layers. I usually work on a small part of the handbag over several days. Sometimes a single handbag has up to 8 layers of paint on it!

My goal is to create designs that complement and enhance the handbag’s original style. It’s all about reviving and resurrecting the bag without disturbing from its original design, so I appreciate when someone sees my bags and assumes the motifs have always been there.

It's Wedding Season. NO, IT'S DUCK SEASON!

But for real, it's wedding season. And if you're looking for a neat gift or keepsake for someone who is tying the knot, consider this cloth calendar, with their wedding date circled via embroidery!

This calendar, made by chakrapennywhistle, is cut from a vintage tea towel. The day of the week may not match up, but for a true earth-lover, that may not matter! For you crafty types, you could then append the patch to any number of gift items, to give them a customized significance!

Vintage Never Looked so Fresh!

Rikrak makes some wicked fine goodies out of vintage fabrics.

My personal favorite from her shop, which is filled with similar vibrant pieces, is this gleefully green quilted card cozy!
